Instead of doing the Gap llD and two aftermarket keys from Lucky 8 ($600) plus having to get them cut..or getting the Mobile key guy from the hood to do us 2 keys using those aftermarket keys ($280 each) I talked to guy at one of the dealerships to get me two OEM keys for a bit of a reduced rate ($640 total) and the programing is the same $195 for one or two keys so total will be $848.
A lot but those OEM keys did last over 15 years.
One of the two is still working but with holes.
When the one broke I got motivated and the one remaining I repaired by cutting a strip of leather..rolled it to the right height..clipped to fit in there keeping finished side of leather to the outside..glued end to stay rolled..inserted to a tight fit but not too high and neatly put the good quality black 33 3M electric tape over buttons and looks like it will go on now and keep water out.
In the mean time dealer getting us new keys which hopefully are better quality than the aftermarket ones.
