You will lose the satnav/4x4 info when you replace the head unit plus any function that uses the factory stereo to adjust, there is a CANbus compatible harness available but i've heard conflicting info on how well it integrates. Mine is an SE which had the base stereo so my android install was easy and only lost the clock on the dash.

You sure? When I bypassed my head unit sat nav and 4x4 info, etc., all worked fine. But I have the MOST network, if you have the base stereo then you have no fiber optic so maybe that is why?

Odd. Probably because they are not putting a bypass in the MOST loop. The instrument cluster is the network timer so as long as the loop is complete it should pretty much work. As for the CAN bus, there are two networks used by Rover and they are not at all compatible, which is maybe why some head units work and some dont, the data bit path must match.

Can anyone give me a quick guide on how to bypass the MOST network so I can get my factory 4X4 and sat nav working again. 06 HSE with logic 7. I replaced the radio with a Pioneer. I bought the fiber optic cable off eBay. Just not sure where to start. Thanks

You cant bypass the network, so not sure what you mean by that. If you removed the head unit, the bypass look you bought simply connect to the MOST connection. Pretty straight forward.

Default 06 lr3

Hi! I recently bought my first LR3 2006 and am looking to do the same thing! How did the project turn out? Can you attach photos? Does the logic 7 still work?

I was also looking at a Tesla looking unit like this one:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_BU21K6

but wondering if it’s a mistake given that it looks like a lot of work to install and where would the emergency lights and door lock buttons go? Has anyone ever tried to install on of these radios to the LR3?

thank you for any info!

I was unable to keep the logic seven factory navigation and off road information screen. I was told it could be done, but I couldn’t figure it out. But I still do really enjoy having CarPlay and this pioneer unit in the car. All the factory amp speakers and subwoofer work correctly. The steering wheel controls work as well.I kept all the original equipment so I could switch it back if I desire later.
Also in the process I removed the ashtray and installed a tough rock power panel. Which I really do enjoy. I Kinda don’t like staring at the Landrover splash screen I was trying to figure out something to put there in place of it but haven’t gotten there yet.
I also added a back up camera which I really enjoy. Also due to the orientation of the LR3 dash, I picked a pioneer unit that has a tilt out screen for better visibility when driving
