Hi Can you pls include the details on the harness, fascia and the headunit that you used. I have a 2005 SE and seems to be the right fit to do the conversion......thanks in advance!

The steering wheel controls work as well.I kept all the original equipment so I could switch it back if I desire later.
Also in the process I removed the ashtray and installed a tough rock power panel. Which I really do enjoy. I Kinda don’t like staring at the Landrover splash screen I was trying to figure out something to put there in place of it but haven’t gotten there yet.
I also added a back up camera which I really enjoy. Also due to the orientation of the LR3 dash, I picked a pioneer unit that has a tilt out screen for better visibility when driving

I wish I could help. I had a guy to most all of the work for me. The head unit is the AVIC 4500 NEX from Pioneer

Default Radio swap parts

I install aftermarket car stereos for a living, and have a soft spot for British vehicles. My next project is my 2005 LR3. It will get the following parts;

Dash kit
Metra Online

Antenna adapter
Metra Part # 40-EU10 | Volkswagen Antenna | Metra Online

MOST and CANBUS interface
Metra Online
Description
  • Provides accessory power
  • Retains R.A.P. (retained accessory power)
  • Designed for amplified models
  • Provides NAV outputs (parking brake, reverse, speed sense)
  • Retains audio controls on the steering wheel
  • Micro-B USB updatable

This is the expensive part. MSRP in the USA is $576 (even more here in Canada)
I may just swap out the whole logic 7 system, as I usually do big builds in my own vehicles.

Of course, that costs an order of magnitude more. But I've watched me do it before...

Default Upgrading my aftermarket stereo

A few years ago all my electronics died on a looooooooong trip back to AR from CO (my air suspension failed in the middle of nowhere too... driving 700 miles on the bump stops with no music SUCKED!!!). When I got home, I was ready for a divorce, but my friend talked me into keeping her.
We did a spring swap and ordered a kit from the UK to install an aftermarket head unit. The sound is great, but I’m still not crazy about the way my dash looks.
I’ve been looking at the Alpine Halo9/11. My plan is to replace the factory nav screen with a single din kit, and install the Alpine up higher. I found a blank double din cubby to replace the factory radio, in which I’ll fit a wireless charger.
Im just curious if anyone else has thought of going that route?

I installed new radios in both my LR3 and my son's. I swapped my screen for a wireless charger. Currently using the Logic 7 amp and speakers, but they will be the next upgrade...

Using the Logic 7 does that mean the volume is still "nannied" by the factory controller?

Default Logic 7 interface

Yes, you are simply feeding Left and Right RCA level to it, you have no control over fader, crossovers, sub level, and it does "nanny" the overall volume as you put it.
The upgrade starts this weekend, and I will have a good used Logic 7 amp to sell...
