Default New Battery in my LR3 key fob but locking issues

The key fob's battery in my 2006 LR3 died recently. I bought a new case and new battery from eBay, and got the new battery soldered in as required.

The key works but I can't lock or unlock my doors most of the time. It only works when I just drove the car. Looks like the key fob's battery isn't being charged properly.

Not sure what step to take now. It has been over 2 weeks. Not sure what I did wrong or if missed a step. Did anyone run into this problem?

How can I make sure that the key fob's battery is fully charged? Help please

Lock, unlock problem may be related to corroded wire splice in right side door threshold, If you have had wet floorboard in the past this is a no cost diagnostic test you can do at home.

There are more threads on this forum about that problem than gators in a Florida swamp.

A quick search will yield overwhelming results
