Just got my first Land Rover it's a 2006 LR3 SE V8 with 108,000 miles.

It is an amazing vehicle. I did a bit of research before buying and found the lower control arm bushing issue before buying and got a better deal.

I just ordered new front lower control arm assemblies.

The sunroof seems noisy at 50+ mph. Do the wind deflectors solve that issue?

These trucks have so many bells and whistles I am still finding stuff!

Do you have roof rack cross bars? I removed mine because they were noisy.

Yes I do. Definitely seems to coming from the sunroof. Get louder if I lightly push up on it.

How does the adjustment of the glass look?

The glass should be flush with the roof line. The leading edge must not protrude above the roof line at all and the trailing edge must not be below the roof line at all.

Definitely flush. I am looking for a wind deflector too. Any suggestions?

I have the same rattle in the sun roof occasionally. Same symtom, push on it slightly and it will stop. I guess it's time to figure it out, but I'm too lazy. Maybe someone will give us a tip / how to here.

Congrats on the new wheels, you will enjoy it.

perhaps try a sunroof recalibration. Mine did not close fully one day and the fuse was good. I thought I needed a new motor but found the calibration steps in the owners manual (page 119).

Sun roof calibration:

turn the key to position II (run)

press and hold the front (close) portion of the sunroof switch for 20 seconds. Continue to hold the switch until the sunroof makes one complete cycle (it will open and close, do not release the switch until the sunroof is fully closed and stops moving).

The calibration cannot be performed if the battery voltage is low.

other solutions may include;

replacement of weather seal

adjustment or replacement of tracks, gears, motors etc. if the sunroof fails to close completely

thorough cleaning and lubrication of moving parts and tracks etc.

I have fashioned a home made set of roof rack bars, I am sure that they add wind noise, but that is nothing that the "volume" **** cant fix.
