Default new for LR3 and some electrical problems

Hi, I am new on forum,
sorry for my english , I am just move in here in LA from Italy,
in the past years I owned many off-road cars in Italy but this is my first Land Rover and so I am very happy...

this is a 2005 LR3 v8,
the car is very cool and run good, there is the hd package and off-road navigation.
the 3th row is missing but I am looking around...

Ok when I just bought I have changed the alternator , the battery (an H8) is new, change transmission oil (with pan, there was a leak from pan) and engine oil.

the problems:

sometimes at start I get

transmission fault, limited gears, F,
special program off , suspension lowered , brake brake park blink ,

I can start the LR3 and drive and after some time (~20min) (or after some of engine off/engine on) , appear the blink green light of HDC for few seconds and after that seems that air suspension works and many other light goes off.

I have bought the i930 from ICarsoft that is specific for Land Rover, when I try to connect and there are all the lights the scanner get a OBD error/ecu off , only few ecu are accessible (body control is one of that are accessible).

after the hdc green light goes on/off with i930 I was able to do a diagnostic and in engine ecu I get the p0504 park light switch a/b , sometimes I can read this value by obd2 diagnose without turn-on the ignition, if I turn on the ignition the i930 can not read anything.

could be a short-circuit or some electric wire that go to ground ?

then when I can clear the codes, or I wait some times and the light go-off itself , the LR3 runs fine

At now this never happens during the drive but only after 6/8 hours that the LR3 is parked

thanks,
Pier

Brake light switch or bulbs? Ground Cable -- rear terminal to the body, check for corrosion, if corroded, replace.

Does it seem to randomly trip up, or happen during braking operations?

The ignition switch may need to be in the on position, and possibly a battery charger for some operations (including reset faults).

IMPORTANT: Folks, if you get curious and look up icarsoft, be aware it was blocked by my malware tool. So I would suspect you should avoid it.

is randomly,
the code that I get is for: Brake light switch (P0504),

what you mean with:
rear terminal to the body
where I have to look to find ?

ok to use diagnostic I have to move ignition to on but the scanner I have to connect before that I move ignition to on or after ?
the scanner manual said before but now when all the christmas light appears on my dashboard and the scanner is already connected (and powered) said that there is connection problem. I have not yet try to connect after I am scare to do something wrong

thanks !!!!

It sounds like you need a brake light switch to start. Are you in France?

XZQ000020 EXTERIOR BULBS LR3; Rear Tail/Stop Lamp Bulb
XKB500110 Stoplamp switch, range rover sport 2006 - 2010

Yes, the terminal in the rear, nearest the windscreen. You will will look for corrosion on the terminal, if yes, remove battery to access the cable on the firewall to the (right I think) if it is a right hand drive) or left if it is a left hand drive-- ah... you know where the battery is.. These are notorious for corrosion on the negative battery terminal for some reason, it then travels up the cable to to the bolt location. The cable is about 12 inches long.

Here is one picture, check the same gallery for more.

Here is a view, with the battery out, showing the - (minus) battery terminal

Here is the brake light switch, under the steering wheel, the cover with the vent in it, pull at the top, and it hinges out.

Good plan on the brake switch, and from what I gather, a very common item to cause many faults on these trucks.
