It's supposed to be "face" up, for the reason you state and it simply fits better/more snug too.

Ok thanks I wanted to make sure. I'll go back have them flip the spare and check the pressures. for some reason my tire pressure light is still on.

Is there a reset switch or did not maybe have the pressures off?

I went in and helped discount tire flip my spare. They said they put good side down so you can check the spares tire pressure. But that cable sticks out like 2 inches and could catch something while offroading. I don't think that is a good enough reason to have good side down.

My TPS tire pressure light is still on. They said just drive it and it will self adjust. Well I've only driven like 10 miles and its still on. How many miles does it take?

They checked the tire pressure and fronts are 38 and backs 42 per the door sticker.

LOL, I don't have it either now so I'm in same boat as you .

Update, after like 50 miles the sensor light went off.
