Angry No Sport mode

I have a transmission fault message and unable to select Sport mode. Vehicle drives as normal in auto D but moving selector to the left does not change to Sport/manual mode. LEDs do not light up and gear selection indicator continues to show D. Vehicle has 141,000 kms and no service ever carried out on the auto trans. Have not had fault codes read yet.

Any ideas/comments appreciated

I'm presuming that if you "re-boot" the car the fault doesn't clear. What about a "Hard Reset?" You need to get an IIDTool and reset those codes! ...not sure the root cause; never encountered that (knock wood).

Yes I tried the reboot but nothing changed. Seems odd that no problem in drive so assumed tranny OK and problem likely electrical, possibly just a solenoid on the Sport selector failing to change shift pattern. Waiting to get it to dealer for check of codes but thought this encyclopaedic forum might give me a heads up.

Thanks for your comments

To my knowledge nothing has been spilled but it's possible a passenger may have done so without commenting. The drink holders are conveniently located for such an event. I will investigate further. Thanks for your input

Tech told me all that including the off road selector is very sensitive to getting wet

Hi Tom. Thanks again for your comment. Vehicle is in the shop and am waiting for (official) diagnosis of problem and likely cause. Will let you know the outcome.

Transmission now repaired. Problem was related to the T bar and not electrical. Seems T bar was not fully locating to the left but reason for this was not disclosed.

Hey guys just got my first Land Rover and love it! I’m a Saab guy so I’m familiar with vehicle quirks. But I’m having the same issue as tadpole, was wonder if you could shed any light in the issue for diy repair or just tell me what the T bar is? Thank you
