Default Not sure this has been asked ever...

I have an '05 and the "Land Rover" button on the key FOB originally could only be programmed to do a panic alarm, headlights, or EAS. Later MYs of the RRS could be programmed to open the rear hatch.

Does anyone know if there has since been a hack (maybe with the IIDTool) that allows this on the 2005 LR3 key FOB?

Thanks in advance.

With a fully locked truck, press unlock twice to unlock all the doors. Then press the Rover logo button on the fob and hold it down while opening the upper tailgate. I think you have to do all the steps fairly quickly. Also if the button is programmed for something else, that may trigger, but it should reprogram to the remote.

But being an 05 I am not sure if it will work, this might be an 06 and up thing. Give it a try, report back.

Default Worked on both!!

...a little Easter Egg since it's not in the 2005 manual. Thanks @DakotaTravler !!

Not sure this programmed feature helps in the event of actuator failure since it uses the same mechanical parts (but different means of triggering the actuator) but it's pretty handy.
