Occasionally weak pickup and woooo exhale after idlng
While at stop maybe idling for a while standing waiting for wife in store..when we take off.. accelerating it seems to exhale wooooo with almost no pickup untill it reaches the next gear then all normal and effortless from then on during all stop and go. Any idea ? It feels like no compression but I'm using the term fully layman's as I am not a mechanic trying to keep our only car on the road.
IT happens when car is hot but I think when it's cold too maybe when we start.
It happens pretty much everyday maybe once when going out doing errands. But I've noticed it for a couple of years on and off.
Throttle body recently cleaned.
No indicator lights..but we had check engine light on for like a year but kept changing parts and finally went away as air leaks found and closed over and over.
When mechanic looks for codes the only ones that always came up were lean codes. Now gone.
Does this sound familiar?
Car has 214,000 miles on it 2006 V8 4.4
Had tranny fuels changed twice all differentials..well maintained since bought at 23,000

Is your AC on when it happens? Wondering if it's a dying compressor causing drag?
You recommended in the past to burp the coolant:
I will do it today...you said to:
"Run the car with the heat on full blast and get to temp. Open the T bleeder over the throttle body until there's no air coming out. Then do the same with the bleeder on the coolant tank. Top off the tank as it drinks any coolant down."
*What does Throttle T bleeder over Throttle body look like ? And bleeder over coolant tank ?
We have a heater clog but still heats up some out of center vent.
He then said there is no air in the system we have it all out.If there was air in there he squeezed a fat hose and said this would be hard.
He says the woooo sound is probably the fan clutch coming on to cool engine.
I asked is there a way to have engine run cooler...and he says there is a Coolant which has no water in it that will keep engine cooler..it's used in racing.
Is that coolant he is talking about recommended to be used in this car ? LR3 4.4 V8 2006
Thank you
You need a new mechanic. Squeezing hoses is no sign of being full of coolant or not. Hot air expands and easily pressurizes the system.... And cooler coolant? Not really.... Yeah there are additives and such but this is a passenger vehicle, it will not make a difference at all. And the wrong coolant can cause major issues. If your viscus fan is running full blow - as I asked about - then it is defective or there is an engine temperature sensor problem. Or a system voltage issues, in which case the fan locks on full by default.
