Occupancy Sensor Programming???
Recently bought a 2006 LR3 for my daughter. Have gotten everything else on it in top shape (many thanks to everyone on these forums) but have one issue I am not sure of.
The airbag light is on so I took it to a dealer to diagnose it. It gace them codes B1A00 and B00A0 indicating Occupancy Sensor Control Module failure. Is it normal with this problem to replace the entire seat cushion rather than just the module that is bad? Also, they state "Install and Programming - 4 hours" on the quote. Does this module have to be programmed once it is replaced? And if so, will an iCarSoft LR V2.0 do the programming?
Thanks in advance,
Ken Carr

Theyre $50 on eBay. I can walk you through the install. There may be a calibration as it uses air pressure on the switch. Module may work with out programming.
I have one I can send you. If it doesnt work (meaning needs programming), send it back. Do you have a Gap tool to reset the light?
What part of the country are you in?

Here are 2 extracts from the workshop manual regarding the 'Occupant Classification Sensor' and 'Restraints Control Module'.
though I assume it's the seat sensor that is to be replaced, part Nē LR017308. It appears that the part may be available separately, but needs T4 or equal to program, but I'm only guessing as it doesn't come up often. I've certainly not seen it before, hopefully someone else can help more.

The staple around here is the Gap Diagnostics IID tool. I have never heard of the one your using. From what I gathered by looking at the ICarSoft page it seems like most of the tools simply scan for codes. The IID tool is great because it also lets you do all the programing and configuration you need. Honestly, every new owner of an LR3 should buy an IID. It will save you money. Ive had mine for less than a year and has saved my butt and wallet numerous times.
