Default Oil Leak took a few pics trying to figure out where it’s coming from?

Took a few pics on trying to figure out where this oil leak is coming from. I’ve never had an oil leak. I did park on a hill the past few days and noticed I had oil underneath the vehicle. Thanks guys for any help or insight. 2006 LR3 HSE

Hard to tell but I'm going with T-Case.

Your transmission valve body sleeve thing is leaking. Very common issue. Sadly the pan has to be taken down to replace. Basically there is a sleeve that houses the electrical connector for the trans. The seals fail and it leaks. You can even get transmission errors as a symptom as the contacts get contaminated. I think if you buy a new one its been updated with double o-rings. Part number: TZV500010

You appear to have the original plastic pan/filter combo. I suggest you look into getting the metal pan upgrade, that way you don't have to drop the cross member to get a new pan on. With the old pan you cut off the pick-up tube to get it out. Search the forums, TONS of info. Also you can get Motorcraft SP XT-6-QSP transmission fluid which is far, far cheaper than anything else and 100% meets the required trans fluid specs. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE A TRANSMISSION LEAK ADDITIVE.

Ah.. that probably is the correct name! But when I bought mine it was in fact called a valve body sleeve - guessing the seller was guessing the name.

That is such brilliant info! I've always been so freaked out about the Tranny fluid having to be from ZF and be exactly their stuff, FINALLY - the idea that there really is something that can be substituted that meets spec is awesome!!! Thanks.

And if you want proof of the compatibility, just search that stuff and add Lifeguard 6. There was some really in-depth discussion down to the production locations, formulas, etc on it. Also plenty of folks with the same trans, including Rovers, that run that stuff. I have 12 quarts myself on hand for doing my metal pan conversion. Only cost me $85 for the case at Amazon! Oh, 12 quarts is WAY more than needed. This trans usually uses about 7-8 at most.

Ordered the kit conversion thru Atlantic British. Did the install 2 days ago. Very straightforward just time consuming. It took the majority of the day to do it. Was able to address a small exhaust leak as well with the addition of adding a new exhaust gasket. I’ve been in the mountains today and I’m amazed at the difference just changing the tranny fluid has done so much smoother shifting and I’ve seen a difference in better fuel economy by 40 extra mpg a tank. Well
worth the $300 spent.
