Own 2 LR3s. One engine seems less powerful.
On an aside --- indie shop said they use synthetic blend oil, and I'm not sure if my other shop also uses synthetic blend.
What do you land rover owners put in? Full synthetic or blend?
Sorry for my posts being less technical, but I'm wondering if it's just my imagination that ---- my well maintained 200,000 mile LR3 is more powerful (quicker on the uptake, Sport Mode will give my passengers and myself whiplash, gets to 70 - 90 with absolute velvety smooth ease, sounds like a racecar at times...) while the other LR3 seems to feel pushed beyond 70 mph. However, with traffic in a metro area ~ I am not sure whether I'm imagining... also, the prior owner did full synthetic oil changes every 10,000 Miles while I and the previous owner of my 200,000 mile rover did changes every 4500 - 5,000 miles. If I'm not imagining ~ my 200,000 mile rover feels like it's on steroids in comparison --- like a strong robust horse...
What can I do, aside from an engine swap, to make it more like my other rover? (Sorry. I'm not a mechanic or engine tuner ~ by any means)

Kinda unless without maintenance info... spark plugs, O2 sensors, MAF, etc, etc. Need to know when those have been replaced since those basics alone can have a huge impact. And then couple that with fuel type used, my LR3 performs very well with great economy (18.7mpg on a recent 600 mile camping trip, fully loaded w/rack) - but if I put low octane fuel in the economy slips a little BUT she is a dog at high speed acceleration.

Previous Owner was not clued in (to LR forums, fanaticism)

We used to own a brace of LR3's, VIN's less than 1Kunits apart and identical in trim level and everything. Hers always felt more sprightly. Hers also had a PO2510 IIRC that is a pedal A/B sigbal not mathing, one day I was curious so I swapped pedals between vehicles. Lo and behold the other rover now was quicker and had the same PO2510 DTC, I swapped them back and I am still using the wierd pedal as it works better, I'm glad we don't have inspections in our area, as I can live with the little yellow light.
So there are any numbers of reasons why one is quicker than the other.
