Default Recommended Engine oil

Hello

Please advise which engine oil to use.
I have a Disco 3, 2.7litre, 2005.
It's mileage is now 102,000 miles.
I see Castrol recommended for this vehicle on websites but castrol has many types.

1.Which castrol is good for engines greater that 100,000 miles?
2. How many miles do you drive before the next change of oil?

The service interval for the TDV6 is 26000klm but most suggest to half that or at 10000klms, i use castrol edge A3/B4 but any quality brand similar spec full synthetic oil will be ok.

Per the Land Rover website, the oil from the factory is Castrol Edge full synthetic.

Castrol has been Land Rover’s official lubricant technology partner for over 11 years supplying Land Rover dealers with dedicated Castrol Professional oils.
Castrol EDGE™ Professional is exclusively recommended by Land Rover.

Exactly, but it was mainly to try to get them to tell me what they use when doing the change, Castrol or what. And synthetic vs. conventional. I was shocked when they said Quaker State but I'm no oil guy so who knows. The whole what oil to use is an question as old as time and finding someone to give a straight answer is almost impossible. I do all my own stuff when feasible anyways.

I have the 4.4l petrol and run Mobil 1 syn, with the Mobil 1 EP filter. I was thinking about using a napa gold or platinum filter but have not as of yet.
So what is not skimping on the TDv6 look like, just out of curiosity? I know thy do not necessarily relate but...

Not using some ****ty old generic oil, they are known for having some bearing shell issues which is exacerbated by using the wrong spec of oil. The V8 and V6 are comparatively old tech and not as demanding on oils.
