I would say it's not installed correctly, or not installed at all

Wouldn't I have coolant leaking or all over the place if that was the case just asking and would that make my temp needle to not go over the quarter mark on the dashboard

Default T stat change/check it

My temp gauge didn't go past 1/4 mark and luckily I had a ultragauge to show my real time engine temps which was around 140(LOW) when it should actually have read around 195, I bought a new t stat installed it myself (easy job/under 20 min) and everything is now running smooth and at normal operating temps. I would open up the tstat and check it yourself. if you have any questions you can pm me.

A lot of the time the rubber on the t stat will rip or come undone which allows the coolant to pass through. You won't have coolant leaking out but leaking pass the seal within the tstat housing, hence no visible coolant leak.

You wouldn't have a coolant leak unless the housing was cracked or the seal was missing or damaged.

As for the needle not moving, some vehicles will disable the temp gauge if the P0128 is current. Of course, the P0128 sets when the engine won't warm up fast enough, so the temp gauge could be telling you the truth as far as engine temperature. So what could cause a repeat P0128? Faulty new thermostat, or your mechanic thought you would be better without a T-stat.

You won't know until you take it back out.

Yea she's going back this morning it might just be the faulty t-stat cause I sat there with him and watches him put it in so ill just take it to the dealer instead of letting these individual mechanic shops look at it hopefully the dealer can work their magic
