Wanted to give you all an update on my current CE light / P2096 issue. I ended up taking it to a different indy shop, 3rd one, previous 2 didnt charge me because they couldn't figure out the problem. The tech at the shop, where it is now was able to find the issue rather quickly and discovered a hole/ large crack in the MAF sensor plastic housing. Wish I would have discovered this issue, as I would have just patched it with some JB weld, however, the shop is ordering a new housing from Land Rover and should have it replaced at the end of the week. I did tell him to also run the re-learn process for the throttle body butterfly so it can relearn where the closed position should be. Fingers crossed this will be the cure. The tech mentioned that I shouldnt be driving the vehicle with it like this as it applies more fuel than is required and could damage the catalytic converter. Hope this info is helpful.

At some point I fixed major crack on my intake manifold too, when I discovered that massive crack in a plastic intake pipe I was almost certain that it indeed looked like something that would cause lean code. After sealing it completely off, p2096 persisted.

So I picked up my LR3 this past Friday and the tech showed me the hair line crack in the plastic intake duct tube there where one of the steel clamps were. Not sure how he found the crack so quickly as it took a second look while the part was sitting on the service desk under the bright light of the office for me to see it. Also, I asked if he performed a re-learn on the system to accommodate for me cleaning the throttle body and he said that he did that too.
After driving my LR3 on several trips this weekend, I am happy to say that this issue has finally been resolved. Yay!! It has been a year now since the this issue first showed up and its finally resolved now. I have 2 more issues to fix on it which is to replace the coolant reservoir due to the floater been stuck and triggering a low coolant condition. Also, my windshield washer tank has a crack. I may end up selling this vehicle, hate to do it, though i have 3 vehicles and one needs to go.
