Default Park Distance Control

I have both front and rear PDC in my 06 HSE. When I start the car and put it into gear (drive or reverse) to leave from a stop, i sometimes get the tone and message in the info. screen that states "Front/Rear Parking Aid Inactive", and therefore don't have the use of the PDC at that time...this is intermittent. I'm wondering if this is something that I can override, or what criteria the system uses to activate/deactivate the PDC. any insight?

Take it to your dealer and refer them to the tech service bulletin...I did and received a new unit installed and all my parking sensor problems have dissapeared.

The new unit makes the system work a little differently.
