Default Park Distance control problem

Just noticed today that my park distance control was not working. The light above the button is flashing. I looked it up in the manual and it seems to imply that there is a problem. Has anyone else had any problems with their PDC's? I have a 2007 RR.

The connector in the wiring harness near the front bumper can become loose and or frayed. It's a pain to check (you have to take the bumper cover off) and fix but it's a good bet that's what it is. Let us know if that fixes it!

Regards

I am sure that this isn't the problem but one thing that I found in the winter is when the ice & snow build up on the bumper, PDC thinks it is an obstacle and sounds the steady beep.

Thanks for the input guys, I have to take my Rover up to the dealer next week. I also have a problem that they diagnosed as a window regulator issue in the drivers side back window. It makes a humming noise when I shut the door. I took it to the dealer and that's what they said it was..some cable is loose???

I will have to have them look at the PDC then. I will let you know.

Took it to the dealeryesterday, they fixed the window regulator and now my power mirrors don't work!!! Another frustrating issue. By the way, my Park Distance control for some reason is working again. They said at the dealer that the computer detected no fault, so no need to fix. More on that I'm sure.

The gremlins are out in full force with you it sounds like! My guess would still be a loose connection at the wiring harness... would explain it coming and going at least (provided it does happen again). Or it may have just been a fluke. No clue as to the mirrors. Good luck though.

sure there hasnt been any bumper car action?? we used to screw with the salesmen at work and put tape over the sensors but the sensors will realize the change and recalibrate after one cycle. Now if theres a dented head in any of the sensors or a local body shop has no idea how to plug one in then all things are changed scott

actually I have seen several people get bumped while parking from other vehicles and ruin a sensor. you can see the imprint of their license plates screws on the bumper.

I have a 2007 RRS, And the PDC is working in reverse, however not in drive when I go to park the car. The manual says it should come on when you press the button. Can you help?
