Default Pushing the boundaries on the LR3 to run 37’s and what it takes to get there.

**First off to each their own I don’t want this to become a thread of negativity but LR3/ LR4 owners sharing information and what it takes modification wise to get to that point**.

First things first I have a 2006 LR3 HSE ARB Air lock diff. 120k mileage. Johnson Rod lift and running 275/65/18’s. I’m content with it and it drives fine but in the later part of 2019 I’m going to do a Mexico/ Central America excursion. I wanna push the boundaries and I understand when you push the boundaries you start to break things. First off the LR3 isn’t my daily driver so downtime I’m not worried about. I’ve done a lot of research over the past year on the body, cv axles and drive train which brings me to the point of sharing information with our community. I’ve reached out to a fabricator Jack Auston out of Colorado and so far to make 37’s happen it’s gonna take a new front drive shaft, re-alignment bracket for rear, added cv's to steering, motor mounts, extended air lines and steering knuckles extended, front air shocks extended, rear shocks extended, modified differentials, suspension spacer cages, wiring loom extended and new mount tab brackets for the front and rear bumper. I will keep everyone up to date with pics and info. Hope everyone has a Happy Holidays and I’m very thankful for this forum and community it has been a mass amount of knowledge and info shared here.

Looking forward to seeing you get there. I thought I was a bit off for wanting 35's lol.

Are you looking at re-gearing if so have you found a source? I drove one with 35s and it was a bit sluggish off the line. Might check with Lucky8 they have some upgraded shafts by RCV.

Sounds like a body lift is in your future if I am following the mods list right correct?

Do you plan to retain the EAS in doing this? I feel like you're gonna have to get your Sawzall out.

I will also be very interested to track your progress, please keep us posted. I'm also very interested in your excursion. I have a South America crazy dream trip on the drawing board but can't seem to close on it.

Any updates on your project? This would be my dream but I imagine far too expensive. I bet an LR3 would look incredible on 37's!
