Default Question about steering wheel wear.

I have an '05 LR3 and the steering wheel is showing some wear on top. It has gotten sticky when I hold it for a few minutes straight. It only gets sticky where it is worn. Do you know of any solutions for this? Maybe a polish or leather sealant.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Default RE: Question about steering wheel wear.

Several dealers are replacing them under the warranty, although you need to bug them. Mine is over factory warranty, so I am going to have to do battle with LRNA to get mine changed. I understand that the replacement leather wheels aren't nearly as good a grip, though...

Default RE: Question about steering wheel wear.

I have a 2005 LR3 with the same problem. The top started first and now the sides are doing the same. I have 22K miles so it is still under warranty. I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and any luck in having Land Rover replacing the steering wheel. I am in Houston plan to go to Austin in 2 weekslike the dealer there better than Houston. Plan to see if they will warranty. I would appreciate any feedback from others having same problem.
