Default Rear AC elimination.

God morning.
As I was poking around underneath the car I discovered, that my LR3 has a multiple leaks on various AC pipe connections. Don't want to replace as this will be costly and fiddly to do since all the rear AC pipes are pre bent and NOT easy to get to. Does anybody eliminated rear AC altogether and installed a pipe in engine bay without rear aC connections that is usually fitted in SE models ? I could not care less about having a rear air conditioning as I don't drive anybody around anymore.

I have already ordered the pipe to bypass the rear AC. Will install next week when pipe arrives. I don't feel like I need a rear pipes anyway as I don't hull people or dogs anymore in the back. Well se how this move affects overall cooing ability of the truck.

I had the same issue. Under the driver side rocker panel, we cut the a/c lines and soldered them shut. Refilled the refrigerant and it's been working well for the last 3 months. In the back seat, the 2 vents from the center console are cold but the overhead is just ambient air. Heater is unaffected. I'm happy with the results.

I'm about to purchase an LR3 with a reported rear AC issue.

thorgal, what part did you order to bypass the rear AC?

Part # JUE 00505. It is basically a stock pipe from lower specification model W/O rear AC, that does not have a pipes branching out to the rear of the vehicle thru firewall

With a google search I'm not seeing many retailers on that part.

Where did you get yours from?
