Default Rear heat LR3

LR3, SE, 116K, 2005

The Heater core has recently been replaced, due to no heat on the driver side and the left front windscreen. So the front heat is now working great - it's the back that is the problem. When the back is on "Auto' (top light on ) the hot airs comes through the console just fine. It's when you use the climate control in the back (bottom light on) the issue arises. The fan speed seems to work fine - meaning there is a change in speed as you turn the dial. However, there doesn't seem to be any heat - just lukewar aim. Any ideas?

Just an update, All the vents in the rear seem to work fine. If I turn rear controls to blue the air from the vents is very cool ( air con cold ). However, when I turn the controls to red, the temp increases but it's not even lukewarm. Does anyone have some suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? The front heaters work normally

I wonder if there is restricted flow of coolant to the rear system

I know nothing about these heaters. I took a look at the "412-03D_Auxiliary_Climate_Control_Description_and_Oper ation.pdf" and there seems to be a "Heater core inlet pipe". Would I first need to check whether there is heat coming in from the main heater core?

Here is some other information to consider. I spoke with my local specialist and because I've already had one heater core problem - the front. They believe that more than likely the rear heater core is shot as well. I'm will be getting it diagnosed on Monday and will provide an update

Good luck with the rear heater core. Its behind the left rear tire. Real PITA to access and service.

to close this out. The shop said that the rear heater core is blocked and it's a 4hr job to replace - I'm not going to move forward with the repair

Heat it highly over-rated anyways

It is odd that both the heater cores plugged up though.
