Default Reliability

Can I get some information regarding the reliability of the LR3? I understand the 123's, maint receipts, fluids etc etc....I am looking for some info regarding the quirks or the known issues they have, which years to avoid, you know something only real owners/mechanics can answer. We need something to tow around 5k pounds on occasion but also something my wife can drive and I dont have to worry too much about it leaving her stranded. Thanks in advance!

Will tow 5k like its not even there. Quirks? There's a few of those. All of them talked about at lenght on this forum. All of them easily fixed by a trip to the dealer, under warranty. Most quirk issues came with the 05 models, but even those have been taken care of by now under warranty. Overall, even with it's quirks, it will not leave you stranded. Very dependable vehicle in that respect. You may get home with an error message, but you WILL get home. I'd say as long as your nearest dealer is not too far away (you will have to take it back, if nothing else, for services) and you buy new enough to get it with fact waranty left or are ready to pay for an extended warranty, have no fear. Just be aware that when the warranty runs out, if you're left with no extended coverage, fixing an LR3 out of pocket can be a very expensive endeaver.

06 and up models don't have many problems just some glitches (Or maybe its just mind) but seriously you going to love this vehicles espacially when the road turns to snow or when it getts muddy and deep water comes

I've got an '06 since new. The only problem over general maintenance was a shifting problem in the transmission. They downloaded new software into it and solved the problem. It's been a great truck!
FWIW... my '04 DII has been great also.
