LOL -- don't do it.. sounds like black box solutions.. gap-diagnostics iid tool or bust! I have the former, and it is on the fritz, and has been on the fritz, or required hours of fiddling each and every time I have used it.
Why would you want to restore your systems to original?
How would you do it without an interface to the vehicle, and a computer?
You would need to buy something else.. don't do it!!

Seems I am not being clear.
They can take a used remote key fob that has been mated to another vehicle and clear the memory so the remote key fob acts like it is brand new. Then using my tool, with my vehicle present I would code the remote key fob to my vehicle.

"They" are an eBay seller that says "they" can do it. I called and "they" said they have sold 21 re flashed LR3 remotes in the last year and only had one returned due to customer not having access to a tool to code it.

Someone on the nanocom forum successfully used this aftermarket key on a D3: >> Original for Land rover for Discovery 3 button Flip key 433MHZ (Narrow Blade)
But the mhz is probably wrong for north america. Though they look to have other versions: >> Original for Land rover for Discovery 3 button Flip key 315MHZ (Narrow Blade)
But I don't know if anyone has tested them yet. I have two keys, so I'm not inclined to gamble yet, just to find out if it works

Put it in the storage bin working. Took it out to use last week at the shop and it has garbage on the screen in the vehicle selection screen and would not work at all. Appears something like memory is corrupt. Unfortunately I can't spend hours screwing around with it each time I need to use it..
