Default Replacing Power Steering Pump

Has anyone had to replace their power steering pump for noise? My 2005 LR3 has 151k miles and the steering pump is getting pretty noisy. I get the humming/whirring noise associated with a tired pump. I've tried flushing the fluid with no change. I can now faintly hear the pump whirring away while sitting in the car with the windows up.

Did a quick search on here for threads talking about pump replacement but was unable to find any that fit my situation.

Thanks for the info.

Are you 100% certain it's not your A/C compressor?

No, I'm not 100% certain it's not my ac compressor. Are they known to make noise? The sound I hear is what I'd associate with power steering but with the variable displacement non-clutched ac compressor it's possible it could be the source.

When the noise is easy to hear, press the ECON button.
If it's the A/C, the noise will be gone.

I'll give it a try and share what I find.

i've replaced mine twice.

Once because of noise and the 2nd time it was noise and then hard steering in parking lots.

Easy job but don't get rough with anything..
