Default Rusted out Fuel Tank Shield and Exhasut Heat Shields

Have others replaced the tank shield with another OEM or have they gone for an aftermarket/upgraded version, if so what are the thoughts.

I have the same problems with fuel tank plate rusted out and few heat shields loose due to corroded mount points alongside fuel tank and one by the exhaust end at the rear bumper.
Cant do anything right now as I am three days post complicated wrist surgery, but hope to adress those issues in the upcoming months hopefully before tank falls down to the ground on its own weight. I don't think there is any other tank skid steel plate alternative on the market though.

TR plate does not change the fact that one has to replace the original and then add the extra steel plate for additional protection from Tactical Rovers.

Yep, just been looking this morning and it seems the tank shield is also the cradle for holding the tank in place.

My fuel tank cradle on both trucks are shot. I cleaned it up treated the rust and painted it as a stop gap. I than added a gas tank skid for a little piece of mind on the 06. I am hunting for a new one for the 07 or a clean used one.

As noted you need the factory piece to hold the tank.

I think part of the problem I have is that all the dust and crap has accumulated between the shield

Temporary repair until I can get hold of a new cradle. Not pretty, but functional. Will let it get through its safety inspection next month at least.
