Shifter stuck in PARK
My wife's LR3's transmission suddenly decided to just stay in PARK! The dash screen said "TRANSMISSION FAULT. LIMITED GEARS AVAILABLE." I was able to activate the "Emergency Release from PARK" and get the truck moving again but every time she puts it in PARK it locks up. The battery is strong. The fuse is fine. Brake lights are working normally. I am unable to get underneath the truck to see about the linkage so that could be the problem. But any other suggestions that I can look for? The nearest repair shop is an hour and a half away!
Usually a fault like this is not directly related to the transmission per say, it it usually something external causing the issue. You checked the obvious, which is good. There is an issue in the center console that can come up if a drink has ben spilled or sunroof let open and water gets on it. Basically there is a transmission connector that get corroded and can cause exactly the issue you have. When you press the brake pedal, with engine running, do you hear an audible tap/click from the center console? It is not loud tho. This would be the interlock solenoid energizing to let you move it out of park. I am guessing not.
Also I want to mention that even with working brake lights, the brake switch could be at fault. There are two circuits in it. One that operates the lights and the other for monitoring which I thus believe is used for the interlock.

P0659 - "Actuator Supply Voltage A - Circuit High" Usually when I see Circuit High, I think of a current issue. As in there may be a short or higher than normal current in the park solenoid and ECU is unhappy.
P081C - "Park Input Circuit" may indicate that the connector is not making great contact as Dakota Travler said, or it may an internal issue with the shifter itself (bad park engagement solenoid).
Been too long since I messed with a shifter to remember if they are VIN tied or not. I tend to think not, so a shifter from a used parts place may solve the problem. BUT, since it is an expensive part just to throw at it, I would verify that all of the connectors and wiring is proper first.
Hope this helps

It's not hard, you can do it without tools. I pried in certain spots to release the ebrake cable once, don't remember the exact pry points. Again not hard to do and would take around 10 minutes. Just be careful as the plastic can be brittle.
Okay . . . things have gotten a little more complicated. My wife took my car to her house (50 miles away) so I could work on her LR3. I needed to go to the grocery store so I hopped in the LR3 and started driving! Then is when I realized the truck will not shift out of first gear! And to complicate things even more the nearest Rover shop is 2 hours away driving 50 mph (~3,000 rpms).
Is there anyway to bypass this transmission fault limitation? I have exhausted everything I can do and I need to take it to someone that knows way more than me and has a shop with tools!!!
