You can try a hard reset but it will likely come back once you try to drive it, sounds like you have a serious trans problem as limp mode locks you into 3rd which still makes it driveable.

loanrangie asked if shifter gear position matches what is shown on dash - does it? Did you try manual selecting gears (sport mode)? Maybe asked, but do you have any fluid leaks? If the mechatronics sleeve fails and gets soaked with trans fluid, I have heard of issues. Also being stuck in a gear can likewise be a sign of low fluid although usually you get a lot of engine flaring too....
