Shifter stuck in PARK
#11
Okay . . . things have gotten a little more complicated. My wife took my car to her house (50 miles away) so I could work on her LR3. I needed to go to the grocery store so I hopped in the LR3 and started driving! Then is when I realized the truck will not shift out of first gear! And to complicate things even more the nearest Rover shop is 2 hours away driving 50 mph (~3,000 rpms).
Is there anyway to bypass this transmission fault limitation? I have exhausted everything I can do and I need to take it to someone that knows way more than me and has a shop with tools!!!

loanrangie asked if shifter gear position matches what is shown on dash - does it? Did you try manual selecting gears (sport mode)? Maybe asked, but do you have any fluid leaks? If the mechatronics sleeve fails and gets soaked with trans fluid, I have heard of issues. Also being stuck in a gear can likewise be a sign of low fluid although usually you get a lot of engine flaring too....
