Some info needed on HDC Fault
I updated the Rear Diff CM via Gap. Then did the diff test via my gap tool. The clunk has gone away and everything seams to be good. Codes are gone from the system too. Fingers crossed that nothing is damaged as I don’t have $2k to spend on a new locking motor and any other gears.
This is a helpful thread, thank you. So I have another thread going documenting my retrofitting of the electronic locking differential into my LR3. I updated the CCF files yesterday and ran the service test on the differential, and generated the P080A error. Today I reflashed the controller ECU with new firmware from GAP and re-ran the service test, but the P080A error persists.
The actuator motor I'm using is a new aftermarket unit. I'm going to complete the reinstallation of components but if the issue persists perhaps I should go with an OEM unit. I'm not particularly excited by the $700 price tag but... I don't want to have done all this work only to have the diff fail.
From this thread it does sound like it might take several applications of the service test over a period of time in order for it to succeed, so I'm going to try that before ordering any parts. Thanks again to the original poster and the group for the knowledge here,

Update for the thread; I've succeeded in clearing the P080A error. Dakota had mentioned in a post above about the car needing some time after a change to 'reset', and that seems to be what happened with my diff error. Upon editing the CCF file and running the rear diff service test, I immediately generated the P080A error and I could not clear the error. Then I upgraded the diff controller firmware to the most recent version, ran the service test again and cleared the faults, but the P080A error remained. At this point I took a break from the car. Hours later I decided to try again with the GAP tool and cleared the fault codes. This time the P080A error disappeared and it has not returned.
