Sound System
I noticed in my 06 HSE that the stereo sounds different from other LR3's that I have driven. It sounds almost like it has a "hall effect" or a loss of mid range. Its hard to explain, but definitely noticeble, and not enjoyable. I have played with the normal adjustments, bass, treble, fade and so on but its no good. It almost seems like the amplifier or crossover is not functioning properly.
Its a weird echolike sound.
I have had probably 5-6 LR3's as rentals in the past year or two and non of them sounded like this.
Has anyone else experienced this?
BTW. I find the LR3's sound system wether its the 250 or 550 watt to be very good quality and a joy to listen to.
Except this one. Mine.

Can't say I've experienced that but I can relate with how you must feel. Remember that there are a few other settings on the sound system other than the normal adjustments that will affect the way it sounds just as much or more like the Logic7 on/off and so on. Look at the radio manual and play with those settings. I'm almost sure you'll find the culprit there.

I am starting to think it has to do with the Rosen DVD player install. Maybe those guys did something during the installation, I just had it replaced due to a faulty screen.
a lack of mids can also be the result of a "loudness" button. Don't know if the lr3 has one or not, but it is designed to offer better equalized sound at very low volumes. However, it can overpower the mids when you are listening at normal or loud volumes. This wouldn't cause the echo effect, though...
