Default Spare Tire Access with Storage frame

I am building out a storage frame in the back of my LR3. I recall seeing someone posted a pic using a socket extension that remained flush between floor split. that was attached to the spare tire bolt. All you needed to do to drop the spare was pull out the drawers and connect socket extension to the fixed socket and just lower spare. I have never been able to find, anyone recall the setup or have some ideas?

cheers

Not sure, but if you do this avoid deep water as that little rubber cover over the spare winch keeps water and dust from getting inside.

I'm going to look for a 90 degree angle drive that i can use for mine although its not difficult to pull it out if required.

Apparently there are two winch types. One is a standard socket drive, one is driven by the hook. A standard extension can be used with the former, with the later something needs to be engineered:

I think a 3-4” extension gets you even or just proud of the load floor. I was just looking into this project yesterday. Some other threads that are useful for various solutions:
