Default Steering Tie Rod Repair Question

Hi

My 08 LR3 HSE recently had the tie rods replaced when the lower and upper control arms were replaced.

I got under the vehicle the other day and noticed the shop has used zip-ties to clamp the boot (I'm assuming this is what its called).

Is this normal?

I've attached a picture

Yes it is normal, either that or a metal strap. Either is acceptable. There is also a rubber oring/rubberband, for lack of better term, that is under the boot on the rack. I actually just did this replacement myself yesterday. the zip ties are stout ones too, not your typical ones.

Thanks, Scout. I appreciate your reply.

I looked at some kits online and it appears some have zip ties and some have metal clamp and some have the rubber band so that is good.

Now I just have some other concerns about the mechanic still (in another post).

Cheers

I'm sorry to hear that and your welcome. I'm a novice at the LRs but been working on off road'ers my adult life. Defiantly a learning curve but these guys/gals on here will get your sorted for sure. Good luck.
