Earlier today I ran into a problem. As i turned on the ignition, I tried to move my steering wheel but it was locked. i turned it off and turned car on again and the steering wheel was locked again. I then tried for a third time and the car was fine. Does anyone know why and is this something serious I need to get checked out or is it a glitch?

 

Is it stiff to turn the key at all ?, maybe a little graphite powder on the key might help.

 

not at all! i was able to turn the ignition on normally, it was just after the steering wheel locked. Thank you for the tip though!! much appreciated

 

wheels may have been turned a bit so not releasing the lock - moving the steering wheel usually releases it.
