Strange Cylinder Misfire

Strange Cylinder Misfire
My 2005 LR3 V6 has a cylinder 3 misfire. It misfires at idle, misfire counts go up between 800-900 RPM's, and completely go away at over 1,100 RPM's...... what is going on with cylinder 3? Truck is perfectly drivable at high RPM's, except when RPM's are low for extended periods of time, like at red lights and stop and go traffic, then the Reduced Engine Performance kicks in.
any help would be appreciated.

I believe it's a mechanical issue because I did a engine compression check by cranking and checking amps on battery; there is definitely a dip in amps drawn on cylinder 3.... a LR repair shops recommended a engine swap for over $6,500.... I just don't get that when the engine runs so good on the freeway or high RPM's over 1,200 ...
I'm guessing there is a timing issue, a bad teeth or chain, or cam shaft.... how would I test these?
thanks

So you said there was a "dip in amps drawn on cylinder 3" right? Do you mean you were monitoring the ignition circuit on cyl. 3 and saw some kind of voltage drop there that you didn't see on the other cylinders? If so, that would lead me to believe it's not a mechanical but an electrical issue... But maybe I misunderstood what you were saying.
