Stuck LR3 hitch

Stuck LR3 hitch
Its been stuck for like 2 years. I admit I did not try very hard to get it off so I just left it on as I was towing often enough to just leave it.
But now I'm thinking the snow plow LR3 hitch might make it hard to get the spare tire out.
So Today I read up on which way to turn the key to unlock it and which way to turn the green pull out lever.
- Turn key - Clockwise to unlock (Key can't be removed in this position)
- Pull out green **** and turn it counter clockwise (tip downward)
I hit it up and down like 20 times with a large rubber mallet and NO GO!
I don't want to hit it so hard I bust the green lever but I did hit it pretty hard.
Ok whats next?
- Would putting a jack under it to remove pressure help?
- Can this thing put taken apart while on the truck?
- lube it? I don't see too many areas to lube its all sealed.
Any ideas?

- Short on (probably wont block spare)
- Long on that sits lower, it sort of angles back and 2" of it is over the edge of the spare. You could not drop the spare straight down, the edge of tire would hit it. And if the spare is not out of that slot it would need to be tilted at and agle to clear it.
So yea it will make it harder to get spare out, maybe impossible have not tried yet.
The original spare was not a full size, it was a tiny junk tire that I used one time. It was worn out after only a few miles of use.
After that I bought a real LR rim like my others and a new tire and had shop put it back under it. Then I put tow hitch on.
No flats since.

I have that one. My Land Rover dealer installed it all when I purchased. But they did not ask me which tow receiver I wanted there was no choice. So they gave me the snow plow version (lower one).
Below see how it blocks edge of spare?

Yea I will. Its goofy way they made it. You have a steal (not stainless) big pin that holds it. Its going to corrode where it meets the housing and when you try to retract it it can get stuck easy. And that little green handle offer no real leverage. I've not had one apart so don't know what I'm doing just yet.
There is a metal plate on opposite side of the green ****. It has a set screw. Wonder if that allows access to the insides for lubrication?

I might have to do that.

There is not much room. I would have to remove the spare tire (if possible)
then find the pin and maybe get a punch and hammer. But then I would need to hold the green handle pulled out or it would be in Locked position.
two man job probably.
