Try holding it for as long as a minute. Sometimes people report that it is a “very” long 20 seconds. If that doesn’t work, then you’ll want to start looking at wiring —determining if the switch is bad, motor is bad, there’s no power at the switch (or motor), etc. So, that long 20 seconds is time well spent!

Thanks OP for starting this thread and for everyone who responded. I'm two weeks into my "new" LR3 and this just saved me a ton of headaches. After about 25 seconds of holding the button I heard an audible click, and sure enough, problem solved.
