Mine took the extra long 20 seconds, more like 30-40, cleaned the leaf debri out of the tracks and not a problem since.

My '05 took about 30 seconds of holding the "close" button, then I heard the sunroof motor actuate briefly so i figured the calibration was probably done... it's working great now, thanks!

Thanks OP for starting this thread and for everyone who responded. I'm two weeks into my "new" LR3 and this just saved me a ton of headaches. After about 25 seconds of holding the button I heard an audible click, and sure enough, problem solved.
