Who has made the switch to Coil from air? How do you like the truck or not. I am looking at a well sorted 06, but it has been converted, trying to see what others have to say. thanks

Personal preference.

Drive it, if you like it you made your choice. If is seems rougher than the air springs, then again, you have made your choice.

Everyone has an opinion. I like the air system and keep it running as best I can on my 07. My son does not, and has springs on his 06.

Some people will say that if you intend to be WAAAYYYYY out in the wild, the the coil conversion will avoid the inevitable dashboard of lights and cursing as it drops to its knees and won’t move over 30 mph. It could leave you literally stranded in the middle of nowhere.

In the mid west, I have not been so far away from civilization that I could not call for help. (having a ham radio and a cell phone booster and a portable 25 foot mast and antenna does make a difference).

With an IIDTool, an air hose repair kit and 4 height sensors, most problems short of a blown spring can be fixed enough to get me home, or at least to a road where a tow truck can load me up.

In the end, it is your call, don’t let anyone on the internet sway you, including me.

Jeff
