Default Suspension clunk

Hello all,
I have recently acquired a clunking in the front end of the LR3. I replaced the lower control arm bushings with polybush and took it to an Indy shop for alignment. Shortly after I have the clunking that is getting worse. It makes the clunk when driving over any road imperfections and I mean any. Have put in the Land Rover spacers for the sway bar bushings. And checked the suspension for unwanted movements: lift wheels and hands at 12 and 6 no movement. Hands ant 9 and 3 some movement but seems normal to other vehicles I have. Replaced worn end links but still no luck.

Any suggestion as to what it could be?

Thanks

Have you checked your tie rods? They usually go every 30k miles I believe. They are also very easy to replace other than that I would look at the driveshaft. Good luck

Since you did the lowers, the uppers also go bad, sounds like the sway bar, I would recheck the sway bar frame bushings and bolts

How's the alignment , I would check all the bolts, be sure all bolts tight

I have a little play in the tierod inner but would that clunk loud like I'm getting. The alignment was just done and bolts are tight. How do I know if sway bar bushings are bad mine have wear on the outer edges but no cracks?

My clunks have been: front lower control arm bushings, front swaybar bushings, rear swaybar bushings...and the cover of my EAS compressor knocking against my slider (I have only the top of the cover on it; as it wouldn't fit with the lower acoustic box cover). I think tlt (unseenone) has a link to various videos of suspension sounds. Very helpful.

Ours was lower control bushings, the magnum we had sounded like it needed struts, was front sway bar bushings, they looked good , new bushings no more noise

I think I found the problem strut bushing shot. What you do think? Anyone know if I can just purchase the bushing?

I've certainly had struts on and off an LR3 plenty of times, but I'm not sure what that pic is of? Maybe a very tight pic of the bottom of the strut? They eye where the main bolt secures it to the control arm?

If so, I've never seen that bushing for sale as a separate item. A very creative fellow could possibly make a bushing with a block of poly or rubber and a lathe, or maybe get really lucky scouring catalogs for a part that matches, but I'm pretty sure there's not an off-the-shelf part number for that bushing.

You are correct. Polybush has them in UK. Trying to find them here now.

Discovery Series 3 and 4 - Land Rover - Polybush

Link above bottom of the list is the strut bushings.
