I have a discovery 3 and am suffering with suspension faults.

It posts "C1A36-01 exhaust valve general failure" and "C1A13-64 pressure doesn't decrease when venting gallery".

These are on as soon as you put ignition on and come straight back when cleared.

So far I have changed the compressor (not to genuine Hitachi), changed relay, checked fuses and reflashed the hitachi software but nothing has changed.

Any advice on where a chafed cable or something may be common would be most helpful as it sounds electrical to me but don't know where to go next.

 

It could very easily be the compressor, the cheap new ones are notorious for this fault out of the box. WIth that said, let us assume it is not the issue. Instead I think we have to look at the wiring, VERY carefully. The exhaust solenoid connects to the main body via the secondary connector. The compressor has two connectors, the primary is the power. The secondary contains connections for the compressor temperature sensor and exhaust operation. I dont *think* it will operate with the temperature sensor disconnected. I have never tried operating the system with that secondary connector disconnected. But make sure all the pins and wires coming in and out of that connector are good and corrosion free. The other area wires are known to be damaged is forward on the truck of the compressor and on the back side of the wheel well and above the "horn" extension that comes out of the frame. Generally you have to remove most if not all of the wheel liner to see the connectors. If you have an easily model, you can remove the three bolts holding the frame horn on too. What happens is the wires rest on the horn extension and eventually rub thru causing faults.
