Default Suspension Fault - Bad Ride Height Sensor?

Started seeing an intermittent general Suspension Fault but didn't notice anything abnormal in terms of ride quality. On the 4x4 info screen I noticed the LR wheel would show these drastic up and down motions (Normal speed on smooth road) to the point it would hit the travel limit and set off the fault. A few seconds later it would settle back to normal and the fault would clear.

Any ideas? Possibly a bad sensor?

Get yourself an IIDTool by GAP Diagnostics. Then you can read the code and figure out exactly what it is. The display looking like that, to me, points to a bad (ruptured) wiring run, but usually those faults are persistent and don't go away. Out-Of-Range faults are not common in rigs that aren't lifted, either. You don't happen to have modified rods mounted, do you?

Nope, fully stock. Drove around a little more this afternoon and the display showed the wheel "floating" up and down but never out of range to throw the error message.

Hmmm....yeah that's weird. Last time I got a display like that and a wiring loom destroyed, the fault was persistent.

Could be a calibration thing, I guess. Again, GAP tool....if you're gonna keep the rig, you have to have one.

Did you resolve this?
The ride height sensors work on a scale of 0-255, when it goes above 255 it starts again at zero.
If your rear left sensor took a knock, it may be out of alignment, and would be giving a value that does not correspond to its actual position as a result.
Likely that your normal height is floating really low around 10 ish, and when your suspension moves as the car is driving, it is dipping down below 0 and into 255 area, which would make the EAS ECU think its fully extended.

If this is the case, its an easy fix, but you will need a diagnostic system to do it.
GAP seems to be well appointed.
I have used RSW 4DCAN to do this myself.
You will need to look at the live data from the rear right, note the value, the look at the rear left.
To manually calibrate them, you need to adjust the angle of the sensor bracket, until the values of each sensor are roughly the same, ideally somewhere around 130-170.
You will then need to calibrate the suspension height, and you should be good to go.
