That thing is pretty loud and sounds like it leaking big time. Did you seal the piston chamber, etc?

yes, I’m going to take it all apart again and double check everything. This was the first time I have tried something like this. Maybe I missed something.

Update:

new compressor = properly working air system. There is Still a small leak somewhere in it. Watching the gallery pressure through my OBDII tool, it drops about 5 psi every couple minutes. So the compressor will run more than desired, but it doesn’t kick out any faults. It’s also not setting level, still about 1/2”-3/4” lower in the right side than left both front and aft. I’ll track down the leak and fix the level later. But for now, I can at least get to work and back.

I have yet to see an LR3 that actually holds gallery pressure at a constant for long periods. The gallery just tends to leak a little at the compressor due to the fittings - mainly if they have been messed with and thus easily damaged (o-rings, easy to scratch). Also the system does not really care about gallery pressure during standby since it actually has to vent it after/before running the compressor so it can fire up. If it actually held pressure well the compressor would not be able to fight it and start up. Hence the little "fart" you hear after it runs or sometimes before it runs. With that said, the drop should not be dramatic and yours actually sounds really healthy! When working systems that are defective usually it will drop to zero in less than 5 minutes. If there is a leak, it can go to zero after one minute - a leak that big could hamper building pressure.

Leveling issue could be a defective valve block, but you should get an error. So maybe it just needs a ride height calibration.

The raise/lower switch on mine doesn’t seem to operate either. I thought it was just because the system was faulting out. The lights are lit up just to the right of it as if it’s working, but there’s no response when switching it up or down. Any idea what can cause this, or where to get a new one?

Remove the switch and inspect, but they have been known to go bad. I think they are just a simple switch that might be cleanable - although god knows how easily they come apart or not.
