Haven’t tried the connector yet because to get access I’d have to jack up the rear, and I just got the part yesterday. I’ll start with that on Friday.

speaking of, are you suggesting not to push the connector back on so that I don’t bend a pin?

 

Well if you push it on, it may snap into place if its was loose and yeah it may work but you may not have a good connection. Better to give it a tug and see it it just pops off. Then you know for a fact it was not all the way on and you can clean the connection up on both ends and put it back on. You may want to use a little dielectric grease - just NOT on the pins. The issue that can cause all this is the weather seal inside. Because on the size and locations of these the seal can get messed up when disconnected. Then when putting it on you think its good to go but it never really seated fully because the weather seal created a wedge. AB sells just the connector ends with new seals. And a touch of grease or silicon spray or such makes them much easier to reconnect too, even when cleaned up.

Yeah. Like how its suppose to be use, being non-conductive and all. Dont need much but even when I did my new connector it was kinda hard to get it to snap into place. A little lubrication and it was easy. I do a lot of trail rides tho, so maybe it was just that I had a ton of stuff still in there...

If you want to replace it you need part YPC800230G, which I myself bought from AB. Was pretty cheap and easy to swap.
