Default Suspension Lowering When Parked

After parking for 5 hrs or so, my LR3 is "settling" a bit. Once I start the engine, it rises in about 10 seconds to the mid level (correct height) pretty quickly. My air pump historically often runs a bit after I start the car, however the "lowering" after parking is new. Is this a setting or a leak? Surprised that is rises so quickly to the right height after I start. Thinking that a leak would take longer to level. Thoughts?

Sounds pretty normal to me, unless it's "settling" all the way down to bumpstops.

It's settling to what is called entry height. Makes it easier for us short people to climb into these monsters.

Any idea why it is just starting now? I would say it is lowering a few inches. In that past it would level a bit from time to time. Nothing like it is doing now. I can even tell the difference when parked. Is the suspension leaking? Or is this a setting? Thanks.

It could be one of the valve blocks. The suspension auto-levels, so if one corner leaks air and drops, you won't know it because the whole truck will be lower. Find the auto-leveling fuse and pull it after you've put it up to off-road height and parked it somewhere you can leave it for a few days (or overnight). Measure the center of the wheel to the fender on each corner and then come back and measure again (or it might be blatantly obvious). A single corner dropped is usually a leaking strut. Both front or both rear is usually a valve block leaking. I think there's one more mode of failure where it can leak back through the system and all 4 drop, but not clear on what the culprit is. That'll at least point you in the right direction.

Well at first you said "a bit" then "a few inches". If it's the few inches then listen to what dj said.

My range rover sport supercharged 2007 120.000 km lowers when parked about 1,2 cm every night . I have put out the buttery for 48 hours and the lowering is about the same in every corner total about 2 ,5 cm at every corner . The land rover official service in athens tell me that i must change all the air suspensions and the air compressor . Total cost 7.500 euro . Unbelievable !!! Any idea what could be the problem with my vehicle ?

Put in in off-road height , shut off and get outside. Stick your ear in each fender well and listen for leaks.

if you don’t hear any, then it’s guess time. I would start with front valve block. Then test again.

Default Suspension Lowering on Rear Left Side When Parked

My LR3 2006 is settling to the bumpstops on the rear left about 30 minutes to an Hour after I park. What could be the possible cause?
