i'm guessing you meant 2007, i know you can program the fob 3rd button for different functions. Has yours been programmed to open the tailgate ?

Thanks!! yes its been programed to open the upper hatch BUT it keeps opening the first latch when I start the car so now I have to
let the car run in P, go out and push the hatch into position! Ok no big deal but its really irritating!
I too have heard you can somehow calibrate but I dont know how??

What the previous owner of my LR3 did was actually cut the wire that went to the tail gate latch and put a toggle switch on the drivers side back by where the cargo area trim is.

Another pro-tip you might need another person for, there is a way to manually unlock the rear hatch by holding the lock and unlock button for five (5) seconds on the dash and it will do the unlock signal like the key fob. I have to get one of my kids to do this when the hatch gets stuck in the 'caught' and not 'released position. Sometimes you can shove it down like a door that doesn't close all of the way, but other times you've got to get it to open before you can close it.
