Default Thud noise

So yesterday my 3 started to make multiple thud noises when turning. It's hard to explain the noise but it's multiple thuds when turning, it kinda sounds like the wheel well is hitting the tire but there are no signs of that happening. I was thinking it could possibly be the cv shaft but I was wondering what you guys thought. Also it doesn't happen all of the time. Thank you in advance!

I guess it sounds more like a clunk. It shakes the whole vehicle and it is worse in reverse, there is no noise when the wheel is straight. A buddy of mine looked at it and we can't figure out where it is coming from. He thinks it could be the transfer case. My lr3 has 128k miles and the fluid was changed at 95k miles.

A noise from the transfer case wouldn't stop because the wheels are straight.

The weird thing is, is that it's not doing it at the moment. Like I said it will happen a lot but then it won't happen at all.

Go to a reputable shop and have them check your suspension bushings... these trucks are heavy and start chewing though bushings around your (and mine's) odometer mark. Good new is there are lots of choices out there for replacing the entire arm or with just the bushings.

Could be your CV though... again a reputable shop (doesn't have to know Land Rovers) can diagnose failing systems that are common to all vehicles... then you decide where you want the work done.

Both lower control arms were done around 40k miles ago and the tie rods were done around 15k miles ago. I know I need a new drivers side sway bar linq, also my pads and rotors are shot.

Could be the anti-swaybar bushings too. Also...do you have a locking rear diff? I had the clutch packs wear out and it was making a clunk at times.

I do have a rear locker but wouldn't that be a more consistent , I fell like that would make noise if the wheels were straight.
