Tire Recos.
I have a 2006 LR3 SE and will need to replace the Goodfor1year Wranglers!!! We bought the vehicle with 24K and now have 33K. I will be replacing these in the Spring.
I have looked at TireRack and they have Kumho's which are amazingly priced around $120.00, but I'm also open for other suggestions. I have Continentals on my A4 and have been happy with them. I noticed they are running Contis on the new LR4, but they are 19 inches.
I want a good all-season tire that holds it own on highway but also good in snow and sand. We drive out on to our beach during the summer. I would like to keep the per/tire cost around $200-220.00.
Thanks

i have cooper zeon ltz's on right now and they are sweet. great in the snow and smooth on the freeway. The tread is sweet too.
I had Nitto Grappler's before and they were okay..rubber was harder, would almost chip and they wore out more quickly.

I second the Cooper Zeon LTZ's!
I put them on back in October here in northern Indiana. Put about 7,000 miles on them through, snow ice, off road, road trips on highways, and wife's daily driving.
They are great off road and in the snow and ice, very comfortable as far as ride goes, more so than the previous Nexen Roadian road tires. Quiet as the Nexen's on the highway also, although they look mean enough to roar, they don't.
Only downside, is I get 1-2 MPG less than I did with the road tires. But honestly, the peace of mind knowing I don't have to worry about anything my wife or I will encounter on or off road is well worth that little sacrifice.
I got Discount Tire to match the price at www.treadepot.com and got all four installed for $604.00 USD. Size is 285-60-18. There is no rubbing, but you will want to make sure and tape up the suspension wiring in the front driver side wheel well as it is in a bad spot and the tire can grab it, a little black duct tape, or a cinching plastic strap will work fine.
Here are a couple of pics of them, in my opinion, they make the Land Rover look like it should, a hard core off road machine, while still maintaining a soft and quiet ride quality.

There have been rumors that Discount Tire wont even sell this size any more, in which case you can order them from www.treadepot.com for $129 per tire plus $80 for shipping for all four and then just have your local shop install them for usually less then $20/corner.

Good luck with your decision!!

You know you're probably not actually getting 2 MPG less with the new tires - it's just that your odometer is clicking away slower because the new tires have a larger circumference. So on a tank say you're actually going 350 miles, your odometer will only read like 315 miles and you'd be tricked into thinking that your MPG went down.
I like the Goodyear silent armor. This is a quiet AT and very good off road.
