I believe the Good Year Silent Armor is the best AT tire. It quiet, has excellent grip for off road and the kevlar side wall prevents pinch flats and adds stability when the tires are aired down. Tire size chart:http://johnsonrods.com also, check out our roof racks page.
My Conti Cross (265 55 R18) are about worn out on my 08 LR3. I was wanting something a little more aggressive to go off road with. What's a good off road tire that's not loud?
Installed 275/65/18 Ko2s a few weeks back and love the ride. I had Cooper Discovery's 265/60/18 before the switch. They made some mods for me. I've attached pics of the work. Maybe they'll help someone. I'll be taking it out for the first time this weekend to the Hill Country Rover Rally. I'm a newbie to offroading anything so this will be a first for me.
Standard Height with a little slant in the driveway.

I have cooper zeon 285/60R18. No rubbing in access height full lock left and right.
07' and newer have a different fender well trim and the fronts need to be" tacked" down to the frame(usually just the driver side), the plastic sticks out a little further, but it bends back and can be held by a self tapping screw.
Hi! I have 19s with Duratracs in stock size which came with my LR3 when I bought it. I’m debating the move to 18s and 32” tires, 275/65/18, as the replacement.
I’ve been researching tires. I believe I’ve decided on either the BFG AT KO2 or on Duratracs. Most of the threads I’ve come across in the LR forums for tires are several years old so I’m curious of owner experiences with their tires since in various conditions.
Most of my on road use is highway and my most frequent off road destination is the beach. I also head up to the mountains as much as I can in the winter too. I do intend to do more dirt roads, forest trails but nothing with severe mud nor sharp rocks to warrant an MT tire. I do not want to switch tires each season to a dedicated snow tire. The Duratracs have been fine in the snow that I’ve experienced thus far in the few years of running these tires and at 16-18 psi they do great in fine soft sand, with DSC off I don’t even switch into sand mode... they perform wonderfully. The Duratracs are somewhat noisy on the highway, more so now that they are worn (a couple tires are starting to cup). MPG even loaded down with voyager rack, rack lights, and running 40 psi is still really good in the 19-20 mpg range at 65-70 mph.
When I picked up this LR3 a few years ago I was convinced of going to the KO2, but the Duratracs have impressed me and have an aggressive look. Is there much more performance benefit in a different tire than Duratracs to justify the move?
