Default TPS Sensor Replacement Options

Hello - I was wondering if someone could tell me the options of replacing the TPS sensor. Last year, around this time (outside temp here is 15 degrees) the inside of the stem blew out. Same happen again yesterday (different tire). I was wanting to avoid paying the dealer $130 for a sensor, if I could find a aftermarket sensor that would work the same. Also - as fyi... not sure about other years but the dealer wanted $75 to install the sensor and $50 to program. The sensor does not need programming. My local tire shop installed sensor for $20 and all was good.

Well it seems your local tire shop is a good option at $20! Why not use them again?

You can get the IIDTool and just turn the TPMS off altogether, that is another option.

Otherwise, eBay has sensors as well.

The tire shop charged $20 to install the sensor - I will use them again to install the new sensor. I was hoping to avoid paying another $130 for a replacement sensor. I thought I read somewhere that a Ford sensor that was $30 would work - but I can't find where I read it or the part#.

PN for the sensor is LR032836, I use the VDO brand, and have had very good luck with it, VDO is the OEM brand part, just no LR stamp on it. The VDO can be found online for half of what your listed dealer price is.
