Transmission adapter sleeve

Transmission adapter sleeve
Ack - so annoying. This is leaking. The PIA thing is I had the transmission serviced 10k ago and they didn't replace it at that time.
They are quoting me ~$600 CAD to fix. Doesn't this mean they have to remove the cover etc. again to get to this?
It's leaking - didn't realize how badly until I saw my wet crossmember and the oil on the garage floor....
Even if I were to do it myself, not sure id have the time to get in there - it's just like a new trans service!

How did they service the trans last time, OEM style filter/pan or the "conversion" one that involves a lot less labor. I dont know book time on the replacement of the sleeve, but I can see it being about 3 hours of actual work if I did it myself. Drain, drop pan, replace sleeve and refill. The original pan/filter design requires more time/labor. The conversion pan is metal with separate filter and does not require removing the crossmember.

When we service these, we do not give our customers a choice. They get metal pan, replaceable filter, new electrical sleeve and new Mechatronics adapter. Our service is high, but customers appreciate that when they see other people in this situation.
If you are handy, you can do this yourself, but its no fun if you don't have access to a lift. I can't say if $600 CAD is good or bad, because we don't know what all that includes.
