Transmission check plug

I tried to check my 05 LR3 4.4. I used the 8 mm the Allan start to round off. Any ideas ? Is it safe to use a easy out and new plug?

Sure. The fill plug is LR007610 and usually sells or $10 or less. You must have not been deep enough, they are deep keyed to ensure they can not round out.
